Teacher: Trumbull Schools Doing More with Less
The teacher and two student liaisons say everyone is adjusting and high scores remain despite construction and other challenges.
Trumbull teacher Karen Rodrigues and student representatives Patrick Curtin and Emma Connelly, seniors at THS reported progress despite the challenges facing the district this year.
Rodrigues recently told the Board of Education that teachers were able to complete all the scheduled professional development, despite Irene, and that they are working hard, doing more with less.
Connelly said the students at THS are “adjusting to the construction and awaiting the new technology.” Curtin put the school’s AP scores in perspective. He said that most of the high scoring high schools in the 20 other communities in Trumbull’s District Reference Group are much smaller, yet Trumbull, despite its size, remains among the top scoring schools.
