THS Marching Band Hosting Fall Classic Sept. 29

The Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching Band (THSGEMB) will host their 30th Annual Fall Classic at Trumbull High School on Saturday, September 29th. Area high school Marching Bands will be competing in Musical Arts Conference (MAC) competition. Gates open at 5:00pm. Admission at gate is $10 for Adults, $7 for seniors and students and free for children five and under.

The Fall Classic kicks off at 5:45 pm with the combined Hillcrest and Madison Middle school bands performing the National Anthem.

The 158 members of the THSGEMG explores the classic musical “West Side Story” in their 2012 production: “Maria”. Through music, staging, color and choreography, THSGEMB will explore the undying love in Maria’s heart: defying the odds in her pursuit of everlasting happiness. Under the direction of Band Director Peter Horton THSGEMB will perform following music selections composed by Leonard Bernstein: “Marie Fanfare”, “Mambo”, “Tonight”, “One Hand, One Heart”, “Prologue” and “Somewhere”.

THSGEMB was the 2011 MAC National Class Champions. In December THSGEMB will be headed to a show down in the desert where they will compete against some of the nation’s top high school marching bands at the Fiesta Bowl Band Championships held at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. In addition THSGEMB will be marching in the 42nd Annual Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
