Five 7th grade students from Six to Six Interdistrict Magnet School were among those selected to read their poems at the sixth annual Poetry for Peace Contest Winners’ Celebration on Friday, Jan. 31, at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University.

Alyssa Negron won 2nd place for her poem The Waltz. Among the Honorable mentions were Justin Figueroa for his poem Shelter You, Monei Jackson for Poetic Peace and Malachi Rivera for Oceans. Xiomara Hernandez’s poem Quiet was selected as a Judges’ Favorite.
