Geared for children 6-12years old, Adults welcome also!

Come join Ruth Mohr in the Nature Center’s butterfly garden to learn about the Monarch butterfly and how it develops from an egg laid on a milkweed leaf to a beautiful adult butterfly. Learn its life story along with other common butterflies that fly in and out of your gardens. Using live caterpillars she will show you how to care for them and watch them develop. She will show you how you can entice butterflies into your yard by planting the nectar plants they love. Lucky winners will take Monarch chrysalids home so they can watch a butterfly emerge from its little green “sleeping bag”! Handouts are available.

Preregistration recommended, but not required.
