Trumbull 8-year-old shows off his golf skills and advances to the regional semi-finals.

Trumbull junior golfer extraordinaire, Ian Brady, who just completed second grade at Booth Hill School, competed and placed in the PGA Drive, Chip & Putt competition at Lyman Orchards Golf Club on Saturday, sponsored by the PGA, USGA and The Masters.

Brady placed second overall in the 7-9 year-old boys group. He also took home third place in the chip, third place in the putt, and tied for third in the drive competition elements on the way to his second place overall finish.

Approximately 30 golfers competed in this age group, with the top three overall scorers advancing on to the regional semi-final at TPC River Highlands on July 30. The top three finishers in the regional championship will compete in the spring at the Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters golf tournament.

Ian (8), his brother Owen (6), and his parents David and Stacey Brady, are all members at Oronoque Golf Club in Stratford.
