THSGEMB Heads to Championships at Kennedy Stadium

The Band Season Draws to a Close as Championships Near

The Trumbull High School Golden Eagle Marching band (THSGEMB) is heading to the championships at Kennedy Stadium on November 9, 2013 after a busy season of learning a challenging, fast-paced show that keeps the audience on the edge of its seat.

Part of the joy of watching the THSGEMB progress through its season is watch the band and guard members tweak and perfect its show during each competition.  The band didn’t reveal its drop-to-the-ground finish until the Trumbull Fall Classic, four weeks into the season; and about two weeks ago, the cymbal line at the T made with the cymbals to its repertoire.  Even the music itself has been fine-tuned practically every week making THSGEMB what it is – a serious competitor!

But it is the smiles on the band and guard members’ faces that really make the show. There is not an audience member out there that can’t help get the feeling that these dedicated high school students like playing in the band. These students enjoy putting on a show and playing their hearts out week after week.  These amazing and talented kids, regardless of what band they play in or high school they represent,  want people to come out and see what it is they care about because what they care about is music.  How cool is that to have 14-18 year-olds care enough about music to pick up an instrument, practice for weeks on end to produce amazing shows! As adults we should support their efforts any positive way we can and one way is to attend the Annual Music Arts Conference to be held on November 9th at Kennedy Stadium which is located at Central High School in Bridgeport, CT. 

The MAC will also be sponsoring a fill the truck event that same night to benefit the Bridgeport Rescue Mission in their efforts to feed Fairfield's needy on Thanksgiving.  The truck will be parked at the ticket gate at Kennedy Stadium the evening of MAC Championships– so please bring a non-perishable food item to donate.
