Trumbull Rotary Club Honors Three Students of the Month in May

The Trumbull Rotary Club honored three Trumbull students as the Rotarian Students of the Month in May.  Students are nominated by their teachers and principals for their actions and overall focus on serving others.

The first Student of the Month Award went to Christian Heritage’s Jessica Cicerchia.  In addition to her actions of service, Kim Bayles, a teacher at the school, specifically recognized Jessica’s kindness and respect toward others.

Anthony Masi, a sophomore at Trumbull High School, was awarded the Student of the Month Award, representing his school.  B-House Guidance Counselor, Tracey Cranston, highlighted Anthony’s heart-wrenching story of recovery from a devastating injury, and his understanding that life can change in an instant, and what one does while alive matters.  Masi is also an active member in the school’s Interact Club which is focused on local and international service projects.

Melanie Morales, a student at St. Joseph’s High School was awarded the Student of the Month Award for her outreach in helping others. One of her teachers, Ann Branca, emphasized Melanie’s good-heartedness and generosity in helping others.

Rotarians are committed to service above self.  The 75 members of the Trumbull Rotary Club serve others through senior events, scholarships and community events—with an emphasis on programs that support veterans and their families. We are part of a global organization with 1.2 million members in more than 34,000 clubs worldwide. At Rotary, you'll find members volunteering in communities at home and abroad to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger, improve health, and eradicate polio.
