Trumbull Golf Tourney Honors Bill Crooks

by Jack Testani

The July 11 Trumbull Republican Town Committee Annual Golf Tournament has been named the William A. Crooks Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of long-time Trumbull resident and Board of Finance Member William A. Crooks Jr.

“Our golf tournament is a summer tradition and this year is especially meaningful for all of us,” stated Jack Testani, TRTC Chairman.  “After the passing of our friend Bill Crooks, the TRTC voted unanimously to dedicate the tournament in memory of Bill.  Bill was a long-time advocate for our Trumbull community, an active Republican leader and a yearly participant in the Tournament.  We felt re-naming the tournament in Bill's memory was an honorable tribute to his legacy,” concluded Testani.

The Tournament will be held on Monday, July 11 at the  Golf Course.   Lunch will be served at 11 a.m., with a Shotgun start at noon, followed by dinner and an awards ceremony.  Non- golfers are welcome to join us for dinner.

Interested golfers and dinner participants should contact Tony Chory at 203-452-1534, John Ponzio at 203-268-1693 or Carl Massaro at 203-268-1731.  Information can also be found online at www.trumbullgop.org.
