'Trumbull's Treasure' Gets a New Name, Same Mission

Trumbull's Ann Marie Tarinelli continues serving the needy despite the recession.

After a suffering a broken hip and getting hit by the recession, Trumbull resident Ann Marie Tarinelli is still dishing up food for the needy in Bridgeport on Sundays, but for one Sunday a month, for now.

With a non-profit status, she hopes to be able to help more than ever. She's also operating with a new name, the Hidden Treasure Bistro.

The people who use her services are under- or unemployed, and some homeless. They always need toilet paper, toiletries (you can't buy soap with food stamps), clothing and blankets.

Socks are important too. "They just throw them away" when they get too dirty for use, she said.

Donations can be dropped off at Tarinelli's home, 18 Country Lane, and monetary donations can be sent there as well.
