A bear appeared to come from Monroe and cross into Trumbull Tuesday, said Lynn Dellabianca, the Trumbull Animal Control Officer.
It's probably gone to another wooded area, she said. In Trumbull it was spotted near St. Theresa Church, Whitney Avenue and Church Hill Road.
The bear may have been a year old, old enough to live on its own, according to Dellabianca.
It was also probably scared of people and trying to avoid human contact.
"He wasn't any danger to anybody," Dellabianca said.
But residents should stop their pets from chasing the bear, the animal control officer added.
