The applications for Gun Permits have gone from 1,000 to 62,000? This should tell you something…Read More about the wrongheaded approach and overreaction by our elected State Representatives. They have taken a sledgehammer for a job that required a simple tool. Obviously the citizens of our State are responding to what they see as an ineffective and overreaching legislation that infringes on every citizen's right to protect themselves, and the State, from those that wish us harm as individuals and as a community.
It is my hope that this trend will unseat those in the assembly that have supported this "Bandage" to protect us from criminals who do not abide by the current laws anyway. It is a feel good measure that will not have any effect on crime. I am sure that the criminal will abide by the 10 round limit, yet this law now makes law-abiding citizens criminals for having more than 10 rounds in a weapon, which they may have owned and carried for years. I held a CCW permit for 33 years and never had to worry about being out-gunned by a potential criminal. Now I have to worry about complying with a law that a criminal will simply disregard.
If we are doing it for the children, then why does Connecticut allow for the murder of the unborn? Josef Stalin once said, "A single death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic." The cowardliness of our State Assembly is obvious. They waited until those two animals that burned a child to death and ravaged a peaceful family to be sentenced to death before they outlawed the death penalty, because they knew if they outlawed the death penalty beforehand that we would have been outraged and their butts would have been tossed out of office.
Well, November is just around the corner, and if the increase in CCW permit applications is true the State Assembly members have a lot to worry about because this law-abiding citizen will let his voice be heard. I have a feeling I will not be alone. The State Assembly created this mess; now let them pay for it. Take the 2.6 Million needed to process these applications out of their operating budget and don't they dare increase my taxes by one penny to pay for it. We will be heard in November.....
