2 Golf Tourneys to Hit Trumbull

The Connecticut Fallen Heroes Foundation Inc. is one of the hosts.

The Connecticut Fallen Heroes Foundation Inc. will host its third annual golf tournament May 20 at Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange.

The foundation is "is dedicated to 'always remembering' our brave servicemen and women from Connecticut as well as our country."

Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Commission approved the 10th annual Fallen Heroes Memorial Tribute for Sept. 28 at Indian Ledge Park.

The event honors fallen servicemen included Brian Bill, of Stamford, Robert Leska of Trumbull and Michael J. DeBartolomeo of Stamford.

Leska was a friend of Ray Baldwin Jr., former first selectman and a Vietnam veteran. Baldwin said he would also be attending the Sept. 28 ceremony.

The second golf tournament, the second annual First Selectman's Golf Classic at Tashua Knolls, is set for Aug. 16. It benefits the Trumbull High School Marching Band, the Trumbull High School choirs, THS Sports Boosters and the Trumbull Academic Challenge for Excellence Foundation.
