STAMFORD: "Malloy is nothing but a muckraker. He sings the small business sympathy song and then enlists practices like this to put them out of business. Who needs booze on Sunday? Nutmeggers have been living well with current buying patterns for years. All this does is give state government more money to blow with. WESTON-REDDING-EASTON: "Our behavior is also a terrible example to our children. It teaches them that the way we handle things is to play up the fear and ignore evidence contrary to our position. That the proper method is to be stricter instead of more logical. That once you've made a decision to stick to it even if serious questions arise in opposition. Pretend you can never be wrong. Make the other side look bad. Scare people. What a great message! What if instead, we had people willing to at least have a conversation? What if we displayed leadership as having the ability to listen to all parties involved?
