Stratford Library's Share the Health Food Drive
Stratford, CT- Move For Hunger is teaming up with the Stratford Library and William B.
Meyer Moving for the first annual Share The Health Food Drive in honor of Hunger Action
Month this September.
Patrons of the library and all residents of Stratford are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items at the food drive collection boxes located at 2203 Main St, Stratford,
CT. from September 7-28.
With the help of Move For Hunger’s generous moving partner, William B. Meyer, Inc, all
food donations will be delivered to the Merton House-St. Stephen’s Food Pantry. The
Merton House-St. Stephen’s Food Pantry provides essential and nutritious meals to over
400 needy families and individuals.
In Connecticut, every one out of every five children is at risk of hunger. Every small and
large donation will make a difference to those struggling to find their next meal.
The most needed food items are peanut butter and jelly, canned beans, canned vegetables,
rice, pasta, pasta sauce, soups, fruit juice, cookies, crackers, baby food/formula, and
condiments.
“We encourage everyone to make a difference during Hunger Action Month,” says Adam
Lowy, Executive Director at Move for Hunger. “Thanks to the efforts of the Stratford
Library and William B. Meyer Moving, the Stratford community has a great opportunity to
make a difference for hungry families and children.”
