Trumbull High School Choir Students on the Line for Annual Phone-a-thon

Chat with us for a moment this month as Trumbull High School choir students ask residents for support.  The students are raising money for expanded choir activities not covered by the school budget.  Students will be on the line midweek during the second, third and fourth weeks in October.  All contributions are tax deductible and 100% of the money goes to the Choirs.  Small amounts are as welcome as large, as the combined amounts help to offset expenses.

This December the Concert Choir will perform with the Bridgeport Symphony and in the spring many Concert Choir members will tour and perform in London.  The Choir makes a national or international performance trip every other year.  Closer to home, the Concert Choir performed at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center last November and the Choir has made several appearances at Carnegie Hall over the years.  These are once in a lifetime opportunities for young students.

Donations help fund participation in performances such as the upcoming Bridgeport Symphony event, as well as state music festivals and competitions, vocal workshops, a scholarship fund and the purchase and upkeep of concert attire for hundreds of students!

The Choirs do additional fundraising with Yankee Candle sales, but the bulk of their funds come from the Annual Phone-a-thon.  We are grateful for your support.   A friendly voice on the other end of the phone is always welcome.

Choir Director Anne Tornillo instructs over 300 students in five ensembles:  the Freshman Choir, the Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, Women’s Ensemble and Men’s Ensemble.  The Trumbull Choirs hold annual winter and spring concerts that are open to the public.  We hope you will join us.
