Despite the threat of Hurricane Sandy, actor Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen from "Twilight") appeared at the mall to throngs of fans Saturday.
"I'm happy that people came. Otherwise I would be twiddling markers and looking at pictures of myself," he joked.
Before greeting the fans, he said he didn't plan on acting in a series that would be so well known. "I'm not much of a planner. I just go job to job," he said. "There are no guarantees when you take a job."
He also talked about his work outside of "Twilight."
He finished acting in a horror movie recently and his movie "Loosies," about a pickpocket, has been released. He was inspired by riding the New York subway. Michael Madsen plays the police officer chasing him.
He was inspired to act by "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and "Midnight Cowboy."
Other ideas he's pursuing is an homage to "Scarface" and a movie about a child who goes missing in an RV park. The actor/producer is also considering other writers' scripts.
But it was "Twilight" that many fans lined up to see. The line stretched well down into the mall and security closely guarded the stage.
