Trumbull Cenfer Firefighters to Honor 9/11 Fallen Heroes

Firefighters risk their lives to keep Trumbull safe. Now they're asking you to give back.

A blood drive will be held Sunday in conjunction with the American Red Cross at the Trumbull Center Fire Department on White Plains Road from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

"The tragic events of September 11, 2001 inspired Americans to come together in a remarkable spirit of unity and compassion. The people of our community have been invited to come together once again to help their neighbors," according a statement. "Much like firefighting, it is an important mission to donate blood. There is a faceless recipient out there that gets another chance because you decided to take an hour out of your day to donate a pint of blood."

"The American Red Cross hopes to see firefighters, their family, friends, and anyone who has ever been assisted by these brave men and women to come and give blood. Each donation made will help to save up to three lives."
