Veterans Day Holiday—Monday Nov. 12— Libraries Closed. 

Veterans: How to Transition from Military to Entrepreneur. Evening Career Lectures.  Thurs. Nov. 8, 6:30 - 7:30pm.  Can you see yourself as the boss?  Learn tonight how to how to find a business and take control of your career.  What you learned in the military (your background, maturity, training) makes you a strong candidate to explore options for business ownership.  Registration requested.  Free. 

 

Database Discovery.  Fri. Nov. 9, 10 - 11:30am.  Hear about some of the great electronic resources available free through the Trumbull Library, including Consumer Reports, Auto Repair Reference Center, Transparent Language Online, and Universal Class (continuing education)!  Register.  Free. 

 

Beyond Deeds and Mortgages: Genealogy and Land Records.  Sat. Nov. 10, 10am – 12pm. Frederick C. Hart, Jr., CG, FASG, will show us surprises and stories in the Land Records you may not know about!  See the back pages of some Fairfield County land records to discover clues to your own family history!  Co-sponsored by TLS and Connecticut Ancestry.  Drop in, and register at 10am; lecture starts at 10:30am.  Free.   

 

How to Fund College Without Going Broke.  Sat. Nov. 10, 11am - 12:15pm.  Trumbull resident Mike Dailey's excellent class covering the best way to manage the expense.  See where you are and how you can get there!  Program includes a family financial run. Register. Free. 

 

What's In Your Food? A Lecture on GMOs and Food Labeling.  Tues. Nov. 13, 6:30 – 8pm.  Tara Cook-Littman, leader of the group GMO Free CT, will present tonight's talk on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs):  what they are, how they affect our health and environment, and why food products should be properly labeled.  Details online.  Drop in.  Free.

Storytime for 2's. Tues. Nov. 13, 9:30 – 10am. Toddlers bring your caregivers! Stories, music and an easy craft round out a fun morning. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull, only. Space limited. Register.

 

Storytime for 2 ½ - 3 Year Olds.  Tues. Nov. 13, 10:30–11am or Wed. Nov. 14, 9:30-10am. Eye-catching books, fingerplays, music, and a themed craft make for a wonderful learning experience for our young pre-readers and their caregivers. Trumbull children or caregivers.  Register.  

 

Storytime for 4's & 5's. Tues. Nov. 13, 11 – 11:30am. Storytime friends gather to hear age appropriate stories and create a take-home craft. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull only. Space limited. Register.  

 

Baby Cafe - 6 months to 2 years. Wed. Nov. 14, or Thurs. Nov. 15, 11 – 11:30am. Baby's first introduction to the library! Babies and caregivers can expect a jam-packed session of rhythm and rhymes guaranteed to enchant our littlest explorers. Drop in! 

 

Fairchild Nichols Branch

 

Branch Adult Event:  Trumbull Then and Now:  Recently Digitized Photos Shared by the

Trumbull Historical Society!  Sat. Nov. 10, 11am – 12pm.  Tonight we will enliven our history, and discuss the people, their stories, and the historical context in these recently-digitized photographs brought to the Fairchild Nichols Branch Library, from 1860s - 1950s! Bring your own photos and share your stories!  Audience participation encouraged!  Presented by members of the Society.  Registration required.  Free.  Hot cider and donuts! 

 

Storytime for 4’s at the Branch. Tues. Nov. 13, 10:15 – 10:45am.  Come for a morning of music, stories, and a craft. Caregivers are asked to remain in the Children's Services area. Children or caregivers living in Trumbull only. Space limited; register.

 

Gobble, Waddle, Gobble:  Ages 6-9 @ Fairchild Branch.  Wed. Nov. 14, 4:30 - 5:30pm. 

Let’s all talk turkey!  Come for a fun filled hour of story, song and craft.  Trumbull residents only. Registration a must as space is limited.
