Trumbull Cops Nab Alleged DUIs

Recent arrests in Trumbull.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Trumbull Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Unconscious Woman Arrested

Catherine Paige Shouvelin, 49, of Broadbridge Avenue, Stratford, is charged with driving an unregistered motor vehicle and driving under the influence.

Police said she was found passed out behind the wheel of her car in the Trumbull Center shopping plaza. Three sealed small bottles of alcohol and two empty ones were found the car, according to police.

She failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Her bond was set at $500.

In a separate incident, Joseph Capuano, 35, of Dell Circle, Trumbull, was arrested after a car accident and charged with possession of a hallucinogen or more than four ounces of marijuana.

Three Face Drug Charges

Jennifer Rose Golia, 36, of Russo Drive, Guilford, is charged with fifth-degree larceny and failure to keep drugs in their original container.

Police said Golia shoplifted gloves, scarves and wallets, totalling $935, from Lord & Taylor. When she was stopped, she had a pills and a straw, police said.

Also accused of shoplifting was Stephen Sebastian Taylor, 24, of Trumbull Avenue, Bridgeport.

He is accused of taking a hooded sweatshirt valued at $125 from Lord & Taylor. He is charged with sixth-degree larceny.

In a third incident, a Trumbull man asked officers to remove Cynthia Jean Ecsedy, 48, from his Cherry Blossom Lane home, police said. Although she was not arrested at first, police said she was found smoking crack in the basement.

She was charged with possession of narcotics and use of drug paraphernalia. She is free on a written promise to appear in court.
