Benefit for Injured Trumbull Firefighter Sponsored by CT Pipe and Drums

Many of you may remember our brother Chris O'Brien from our raffel this past fall. On July 27th 2011, Chris, a Firefighter and Member of the Trumbull Vol. Fire Company #1 Inc. suffered a severe neck and spinal injury while vacationing in Block Island. A 2010 graduate of Trumbull High School, Chris had just completed his Freshman year as a Division I swimmer at the College of Charleston. Initially the injury left him paralyzed from the neck down, however Chris is a fighter through and through and has made great strides on the long road to recovery! Over the past several months Chris has regained movement and feeling in the majority of his upper body, however there is still a lengthy journey for him as he is determined to walk again.

Chris's story has been heard by many, and support from our friends in the surrounding communities has been fantastic! The Trumbull Vol. Fire Co. #1 Inc. Family is proud to announce that our friends and brother's in the Connecticut Firefighters Pipes and Drums have chosen Chris to sponsor in their annual fundraising event to help a Firefighter in need! We extremely excited and honored by this decision. It is proof of the true brotherhood of the fire service.

This years event will take place at Tiago’s Bar and Grill, 211 State Street, Bridgeport from 1pm-9pm. Tickets for entry will be $10. Once inside guests will be able to purchase food and drink off the menu as well as enjoy performances by the Connecticut Firefighters Pipe and Drums, 50/50 raffles, and much more. All of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated directly to Chris as well as a portion of the food and beverage sales to help offset the financial costs that Chris and his family are facing as his rehabilitation and recovery continues. A good time is sure to be had by all and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Tickets may be purchased on our website and will be available for pickup on the day of the event at Tiago's. We thank you for your generous donations in helping us support our brother firefighter in his time of need!
