Catherine I. Jakucenis, 89

Catherine I Jakucenis, age 89, of Trumbull, passed away November 27, 2013 at Masonicare of Newtown.

Mrs. Jakucenis was born in Bridgeport and was a longtime Trumbull resident. She was in food service at 3030 Park in Bridgeport for many years. Mrs. Jakucenis was an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as past secretary of the Dorcas Mission Guild at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for over 26 years. She was also a member of the Church Women United of Bridgeport.

She served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 10059 and was a patriarch instructor for the V.F.W. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent Jakucenis, her son Vincent Jakucenis and her greatgrandson Tyler Prescott. She is survived by her daughter Carol Harris of Seattle, WA, her son Stephen Jakucenis of Buford, GA; six grandchildren Eve Storry, Brigitte Jakucenis, Hilary Prescott, Aaron Harris, Sean Jakucenis and JT Torgerson; three great-grandchildren Meghan Storry, Riley Prescott and Dakotah Torgerson.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on January 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 406 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Inurment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW National Home for children 3573 S Waverly Rd, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827 or the Dorcus Mission Guild at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
