An Open Letter to First Selectman Tim Herbst

Dear First Selectman Tim Herbst:

It was a joy to meet you at the breakfast meeting hosted by Town of Trumbull; Thank you for the invitation.

We very much appreciate your positive thoughts you shared with us about the future of Trumbull and where it is heading. In this context, I would repeat what I shared at the meeting for you to consider and help us in any way you see appropriate.

1. The POOZ regulation for lots small and big east of Merritt Parkway on the Main Street allows ONLY 2900SF structure, which is preposterous according to one of your Commissioners (Fred Garrity). It is extremely unfriendly and bizarre regulation that not only thwarts progress - it puts a lid on Town's Revenue potential. I kindly request you First Selectman Tim Herbst to look into this matter and have it fixed with a reasonable FAR - eg. 0.20 of lot size.

2. Mr. Herbst you are aware of BRICKWALK area on Post Road in Fairfield - It is beautiful - a collection of Banks, Restaurants, Businesses, and Office Space use.  Trumbull in my view can do better. I propose STONEWALK of Trumbull to be developed on Main Street east of Merrittt Parkway, opposite Trumbull Mall. It will attract - Banks, Restaurants, Businesses, and Office Space rental, even better than the Brickwalk area. The STONEWALK of Trumbull will be good for Trumbull, its residents and the Greater Bridgeport area.

3. Regarding our empty lot on Main Street (1.05 acres), which is Gateway to Trumbull - will an Affordable Housing Project make sense and will you support us in that effort?

We look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Dave Anand
