Inez Louise Richards, 56, of Taft Avenue, and Rosa West, 47, of Sylvan Avenue, both of Bridgeport, are each charged with fifth-degree larceny.
Police said the two put three coats in a cart, covered them and tried to walk out of Kohl's without paying on Nov. 12.
Richards' bond was set at $500 and West is free on a written promise to appear. They are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court.
