Trumbull Cops: Check Theft Buys Man Court Date

Check Theft Charged

Joseph William Gombos, of Franklin Avenue, Stratford, is charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny and single counts of criminal impersonation, attempted sixth-degree larceny and forgery.

Police said Gombos, who was arrested by warrant, allegedly took a check from the friend and tried to cash it. But he ran away after the payee became suspicious, police said.

His bond was set at $500.

Three Charged with Shoplifting from Lord & Taylor

Daniel Calero, 20, and Daniel Schlossberg, 20, both of Stamford, are each charged with sixth-degree larceny. 

Police said the two took Polo clothing from Lord & Taylor, put it on under their clothing and tried to walk out of the store without paying.

The clothing was valued at about $577, police said. Their bonds were set at $1,500 each.

Also, Patricia Eileen King, 55, of Old Town Road, Trumbull, is charged with fifth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

King is accused of taking $336 in jewelry and clothing from Lord & Taylor. She was previously banned from the store, police said.

Her bond was set at $10,000.
