Police said she abused a 3-year-old student.

Jean Marie Pulaski, 48, a teacher at the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC) was arrested for allegedly pushing a child's head onto a desk.

Pulaski, of Cliff Lawn Road, Stratford, is charged with second-degree breach of peace and was released after posting $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear July 20 in Bridgeport Superior Court.

Deputy Police Chief Michael Harry said,

"On May 4, 2012, the mother of a trumbull-monroe head start program reported that her 3 year old daughter was assaulted while attending class.  the incident occurred on April 24 and in addition to already being investigated by the Trumbull school authorities, was also forwarded to the Department of Children and Families.

Through interviews, it was learned that the child was to put her head down on the desk, along with the other students, for ‘quiet time’ and that the child didn’t. Ms. Pulaski that forced the child’s head down to the desktop twice. The incident was witnessed by the school nurse and reported to school officials.  The child was examined by the school nurse and not found to have any visible injuries."

Pulaski, who worked there for 12 years, has been placed on leave from her job, the Connecticut Post newspaper stated.

TECEC is a preschool program. Half of the students have special needs.
