Trumbull Cops Nab 2 in Crashes

More Trumbull police arrests.

Two Charged Following Car Crashes

William T. Lee, 40, of Field Rock Road, Monroe was arrested by warrant after a March 31 Trumbull accident in which he allegedly fled the scene.

Lee is charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility, failure to maintain minimum insurance and second-degree criminal mischief.

Police said Lee crashed his pickup truck at the end of Coventry Lane and hit a tree before running away. The truck was later towed but Lee returned to the garage to retrieve his license plates and personal belongings, police said.

The truck was later sold for scrap, police said.

His bond was set at $10,000 for the warrant and another $15,000 for an additional outstanding warrant.

Next, a Trumbull man was charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility and risk of injury to a minor after police said he hit two parked cars.

Police said Arthur Romano, 38, of Grove Street, hit the cars and stopped. When officers arrived, witnesses identified him as the driver although he had exited his vehicle.

He then tried to drive away but officers stopped him and administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

He had his 5-year-old child in the car with him, according to police.

His bond was set at $500 for the motor vehicle charge.
