Campaign Notebook: Linda McMahon 2.0

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Chris Murphy (D): Murphy has gained $16,000 since earlier this week, bringing his campaign fund total to $5.59 million, reports the New Haven Register. Democratic rival Susan Bysiewicz currently has $2.4 million.

Linda McMahon (R): Politico reports that McMahon has improved since her last campaign and is now "Linda 2.0". They say that this makeover has left the candidate more "toned down."

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D): Congressman Himes has continued his 17 Towns in 17 Days, reports the Easton Courier. He will visit every town in the fourth district, including Weston, Redding, and Easton on Friday.

Steve Obsitnik (R): Obsitnik posted on his Facebook page about receiving an endorsement from business owners Allen and Sylina Levy.

A leopard doesn't change her stripes. There is no difference between 2.0 and 1.0. No matter how hard she tries to run away from her name, she's still McMahon, CEO of the WWE, and all that represents. She got whupped in 2010 and she will get whupped in 2012. Running on the Romney ticket in Connecticut doesn't help either.

If this is the biggest news you have, you should not be in business. What about her last minute tax disclosure. Talk about scipted! If she's such a business person, why would if take her or her high paid tax people to realize that she didn't really need the 2 papers that she had been waiting for. Oh My!

Martha, Interesting post. I would say this: we shouldn't allow only partisanship to decide large issues, but what we have with Patch is an effort to create an open forum. History tells us exclusivity often has been used to undermine freedoms, as much as it is used to preserve them. When a candidate comes out with such an issue or story, it is up to the people to determine whether that person is a true leader or someone who is arbitrary. I enjoy seeing such drivel, it tells me who to vote for or not. The people must become more sophisticated if they wish to have any hope at all of keeping their control of government.
