Recycle More in Trumbull

The town will accept more items in its single-stream recycling program.

The answer to the question "Can I recycle this?" just got easier.

"More items have been added to the single stream recycling list," said Recycling Coordinator Robin Bennett. "Residents can now put pots and pans, laundry baskets, Tupperware containers, broken recycling bins, metal and plastic hangers, plastic toys, clean flower pots and paperback books in their curbside bins or taken to the transfer station and put over the green wall."

Other recycling opportunities at the transfer station include separate areas for bulky plastic items, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, motor oil, cooking oil, antifreeze and scrap metal. There is also a Goodwill donation center with an attendan, she added.
