Friends Who Care

FRIENDS WHO CARE: A relaxing break for caregivers of aging parents.

There are no roadmaps for navigating a parent’s declining health and abilities, let alone the accompanying complications of medical care, appropriate housing and dwindling finances.  The journey of caregiving can be long and it can also be exhausting.   You know it’s important to take time for yourself, but other responsibilities can often seem so much more pressing.  You are not alone.

Take just a little time once a month to relax over a cup of tea and enjoy visiting with others who are also navigating this arduous and sometimes confusing journey while receiving an extra measure of support for yourself.   Meetings will be facilitated by Donna Voges, RN and by local clergyperson, Elsa Worth.   This group, co-sponsored both by Spring Meadows Assisted Living and The Wellness Center at Grace, meets on the last Wednesday of each month from 7-8:30pm at Spring Meadows Assisted Living, 6949 Main Street in Trumbull, beginning October 26.  For more information, visit www.gracetrumbull.org or call Leticia at Spring Meadows at 203-261-0006 ext. 30.
