In order to be nominated for the TPSLD “Above and Beyond” Award, the applicant must be sponsored by someone working and/or volunteering in any aspect of special education. The sponsor’s responsibilities are as follows: complete the application fully and accurately (see application); secure specific information of the applicant’s achievements; and submit the application to TPSLD by the given deadline of April 22, 2012.
All 2012 nominations must be received by April 22, 2012. Copies of the applications will be distributed to members of a Selection Committee. Each member will review the applications. A formal meeting of the Selection Committee will be held to facilitate the award process. The committee members will inform the co-chairs of their individual selections. The application receiving the most votes will be the recipient of the Award. The Selection Committee reserves the right to select more than one recipient. The recipient receives the official TPSLD “Above and Beyond” Award and a Certificate of Recognition. The other nominees will receive a Certificate of Recognition. Everyone will be recognized at a televised Board of Education Meeting.
