THS Mock Trial Team Heads to Nationals
It's a first for the team, which has been competing for five years.
After the "We the People" Team finished eighth out of more than 56 teams, another Trumbull High School academic team is headed to the higher ranks of competition.
The THS Mock Trial Team will journey to Indianapolis, Ind., to compete for its first national championship Wednesday. THS Teacher, and former lawyer Eric August is coaching the team.
Speaking after getting praise for the "We the People" Team Monday night, team Mentor Katie Boland praised the Mock Trial Team.

"It's grown by leaps and bounds. They just got the case about a month ago," she said.
The Mock Trial Team consists of Molly Stewart, who was given the award for the most outstanding attorney in the semifinals; Gabby Buttress, Tom Cole, Christian DeGenova, Jackie Guillen, Kherigan Jones, Kerry Marques, Kathy Nickson, Emily Ruchalski, Pete Veikos and Joyce Woolen.

"It's been a record-setting year for us. We're ready to take on whatever comes across us," August said after the team's victory in March.
