The St. Joseph boys basketball team will play for the 11th state championship in school history and second in as many years.
The top-seeded Cadets advanced to the Class LL state finals Wednesday with a 69-59 victory over No. 5 seed New London at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
St. Joseph, which also beat New London 57-52 during the regular season, improved to 24-1 and will face Hillhouse in the final on Saturday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena at 6:15 p.m.

It will be matchup of the two top-ranked teams in the state who have combined for 29 titles.
The Academics (26-1) advanced with a 60-47 victory over No. 6 seed Fairfield Prep in Wednesday's other semifinal.

Hillhouse has won 19 state championships with its most recent crown coming in 2007.
New London won the Class L title last year before making the jump to Class LL.
Last season, St. Joseph beat Fairfield Prep 79-53 to win its state championship since 2001.
