Constitution Week Display at Nichols Library

When visitors to the Fairchild Nichols Memorial Library in Trumbull walk through the doors, they will discover the Constitution Week display of posters, bookmarks, suggested reading about the Founding Fathers and the history leading up to the signing of the US Constitution. They can also read Trumbull’s Constitution Week Proclamation. A local chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman Chapter, provided posters, bookmarks and Flag Code booklets. Chapter Regent Christy Hendrie stated that the DAR is committed to educating the public about the Constitution and thanked the Library and Sue King, Fairchild Nichols Branch Manager, for creating the display.

Patrons are urged to take a Flag Code booklet and the bookmarks. Constitution Week may be a week-long event, but protecting our freedoms is something we need to remember every day. Ms. King noted that the books on display were chosen so that library patrons can easily check out the books to learn more about our nation’s history.

The Fairchild Nichols Library Memorial Branch is located at 1718 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull.  For further information visit http://www.trumbullct-library.org/Fairchild_Nichols_Branch.htm
